Although The Berrybender Narratives is a bit too long,it still has the perfect McMurtry blend of western American history, suspense, love and not too much violence.. I don't consider it to be the best books from McMurtry but still well worth reading. The books are a mixture of adventure, romance, comedy and early western hardships.
