steve vincent said Great book!!!. Wonderful book. Character development was superb. Faro Wells is not your typical hero and things didn't quite turn out in his favor but it was a wild ride and fun to go along. I would recommend all who enjoy the western genre to read this book.. Cogburn weaves a tale of rapidly changing loyalties and fortunes, set in the West of the 1860's.Faro Wells is the anti-hero: dangerous and down on his luck, he's the perfect candidate to take on the 'secret' assignment of recovering forty wagonloads of gold hidden in the mountains of New Mexico. So. He has become my favorite western Author William E. Cogburn He has become my favorite western Author. This was another good story with a nice touch at the end. If you read it I'm sure you will agree.
