"Privacy, Information, And Technology" offers a comprehensive, in-depth treatment of all important issues involving information privacy. Many great features make this a truly valuable source, including: Coverage of government surveillance topics, such as Fourth Amendment, sensory enhancement technologies, wiretapping, computer searches, ISP records, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, and the USA-Patriot Act; a thorough examination of new issues such as privacy and access to public records, government access to personal information, airline passenger screening and profiling, data mining, identity theft, consumer privacy, and financial privacy; coverage of emerging information technologies such as computer databases, RFID, cookies, spyware, data mining, and others; and an introductory chapter with a thought-provoking philosophical discussion of information privacy.

If your are looking for case information and excerpts, with some opinion interjected, possibly you'll like this book. However if you want information in plain language as . "Unexpectedly Interesting!" according to Katherine Kain. I purchased this book for a course I was taking in order to understand the concept of privacy in a contemporary and digital age. This book is full of interesting material! The cases aren't too hard to follow even for someone who has never studied any form of law whatsoever. It's organized in such a way that I would call "beautiful" but that sounds rather too romantical for my liking in regards to a book that is neither Jane Austen nor a picture-cookbook. Still, this book would bene. Good, Detailed IT/IP/Privacy Textbook Tom A very detailed look into the world of privacy in information technology A good in-depth review of intellectual property and privacy law I recommend this book. The only problem you may have is the fact that you need to read the entire book cover-to-cover, otherwise you will be lost. It is NOT a 'pick-and-choose' textbook.
