Californios It really hard to write a review of this authors books. Mostly because I have a very biased view. I learned to read with these stories and a lot of patience on my father's part. I enjoy the characters the way the stories develop and pull you in. I like a lot of the western authors but honestly think Louis L' Amour was the best of them.. Louis L'Amour is one of the great Western writers Kindle Customer Louis L'Amour is one of the great Western writers. This book takes place in pre-Gold Rush California and has some ancient mystery woven into it. Alongside "The Haunted Mesa", one of L'Amour's more mysterious writings, which gives it something special.. "Very good book. Holds your interest." according to Connie Trent. This is another story everyone should enjoy. I had a tough time bringing myself putting it down. Read it, you will like it.
