He also weaves well-researched backgrounds, actual geography, towns, trails, Indians, gunfighters, marshals extant at the time into the stories. In short, all of L'Amour's tales, including Under the Sweetwater Rim, are thoroughly engaging, entertaining, educational and enjoyable. I recommend this and his other books..
