the blackfoot trail Boots good book, entertaining story. A great read Keoma This is the first novel I have ever read by Mr. West. He is a most capable writer in the western genre. The characters were absorbing as was the action scenes. I won't hesitate to place him right up there with Louis L'amour.The plot moves along fairly quickly and we really feel for the young lady who is kidnapped and tortured first by a murderous and evil man who had joined the wagon train and then traded to a band of Indians (who were equally tortuous) all the while being tracked by the intrepid hero/mountain man Joe Fox. This was an engrossing re. Great Read I've read most of the well-known western authors, but this was my first book by Charles West. Most people seemed to give it a favorable review, so I figured I'd give his stuff a try. I was not disappointed and I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. In fact, I ordered "Ride the High Range" right afterwards. If you are a fan of westerns or just looking for your first western read, this book will not disappoint.
