I'm a big fan of Parker's Cole and Hitch series. This one is a really well spun good guy bad guy western with a bit of everything. The tight story line was woven with time accurate technological details about railroads and communications. It has the great reparte you expect between the the lead characters. Simply a quick and enjoyable read.. What was Parker's Estate Thinking? Bradley Carroll Mr. Knott is simply not a competent writer. I don't expect him to be Parker but his style is awkward and clunky. Furthermore, he seems completely tone deaf to all but the broadest strokes of Cole & Hitch's characters. Ace Atkins has done a much better job in taking on Spencer & moving that saga forward. Almost unreadable.
