Robert L. Ximines Jr. said Five Stars. Excellent transaction, excellent book. "Reasoning with the unreasonable" according to C. Taylor. An in-depth examination of both the sociological and legal/political consequences of an unreasoning fear of blackness. Armour has thought through his central argument with great care and evenhandedness. His many examples help the reader to look beyond the obvious and the blindingly subjective to see how prejudice assumes many forms, how it can infect any carelessly judgmental individual, and how it injures us all.. the book was the best that I have read in a long time. In reading this book I left with a different but more aware state of mind. I am in school for law and after reading this book it allowed me to see that as a country and me being a black woman that we still have a very long way to go for racial justice. I recomend this book to everyone because it was excellent and I tend to read it again.
Jody David Armour is Professor of Law at the School of Law, University of Southern California.

"Skillfully drawing on a wide range of referents from Greek mythology to Thomas Byes, the father of statistics, Armour plumbs our racial psychology and in the process explores the racialized nature of our daily life and our legal system."-Norfolk Virginia Journal and Guide"Commendable in important respects
