A way to grow your heart, empathy & understanding Istar Lamoore Loved the link between the old and new world, the burden and ache of being alive in love. Helped me really feel the life on the frontier and in early Montana. Some of the character development is joyfully and heartbreakingly full to the point of unforgettable characters with their gifts and burdens. Exuberance dashed, exuberance met, life on full throttle and full labor, the injustice of nature. Living with things as they are even when difficult to contain. It's a book I feel very fondly about . Wow! and more Wow! My2centsworth Beautiful writing; this is an author who not only makes you feel as if you are there in the setting, I wanted to get back there when I was not reading. Wonderful characters, deep feelings, delicious word/phrase use. And unexpectedly funny! Loved it. Favorite read so far this year. I read this one first, as it is first in the chronology, am already halfway through English Creek.
