"Good read, but the ending" according to Glendon J. Widrick. This book was a good read, but I'm not sure about the ending. We're we left somewhat "up in the air" so we could use our imagination, or because the author desires for us to purchase a sequel (of which I am not a fan of in the least)? Without that criticism, I would have given it 5 stars. I felt it was definitely worth the time to read. Fast moving and well written!!!. Reluctant Hero Very thought-provoking plot, so much of what happens in Phillip Anderson's life leads back to the tragedy that claimed his parents' lives. Great characterization, with a strong group of supporting characters. The challenges come to Phillip when he fears what he is called on to do may offend God. I liked how the author resolved the moral dilemmas.. I'm always amazed at what it took to settle this country geneese For me the writing brought the West to life. I could just see all of the action happening. It was so descriptive. Thank you for all your research to write this book. I'm always amazed at what it took to settle this country. I loved the characters. Maybe not Jacob so much, however there are a lot of Jacobs today.
