These thoughts were always in his mind and he thought he could never have the life he so desperat. A Most Philosophical Western The poetical prose of Zane Grey carries a pattern quite unlike the work of contemporary writers. In the midst of the building of a plot and development of characters, we also find lyrical musings on the spiritual aspects of nature and the struggle to know God.The ending is at once comforting and maddening, and would be worthy of Hitchcock if that maste. RGH said Famous authors write good books. I can see why Zane Grey is so famous. Well written book, kind of wordy at times but held my interest with a real surprise ending.
