5 Stars for Sword of Shiva John R. Schembra Sword of Shiva starts out with a bang and does not let up throughout the whole book. Very well written fast paced thriller that once you start reading, you will not be able to put down. Jeff Edwards masterfully puts together this military thriller in a believable manner. The events in the book could very well happen in real life which makes the book all the better. Weaving the tension through the whole book, it is a riveting tale of nations on the brink of total war. Barry said Good but too much tecno and never ending air & naval battles.. Excellent novel with a lot of technical detail. Overall I certainly enjoyed reading it and mostly did not get bored with it. However, in my opinion, it would have been much better if the battle sequences included much less detail (both technical & detailed descriptions), were shorter, and fewer. Would like to have seen more included about the politics and behind the scenes intrigue than so much down in the dirt detail about the battles. It is a Tom Clancy type of te. "Another taut story from Jeff Edwards" according to Dennis Johnson. This is a well-crafted story that weaves military arts and domestic and international politics with plain humanity. It is a fast read and rewarding because it satisfies, entertains, and provokes thought all at the same time.
