Christopher Lee said Modern Fiction at its best. Who knew Queen of the Damned was coming? This novel by far is one of the fastest moving complex plots of our modern day. I picked up this book expecting just another low energy serial novel that put me to sleep at night, instead I was dropped into the world of Anne Rice's vampires. This book has so many plots that one struggles to think how all of them will wind together. With all of the plots, Rice paints a complete world and complete characters: no holes, no unanswered questions. Rice s. Amazon Customer said Great read. Mostly, the book spins the complex yarn of Akasha's eerie, brooding brood and her nemeses, the terrifying sisters Maharet and Mekare. If you felt that the previous books in the series weren't gory and erotic enough, this one should quench your thirst (though it may cause you to omit organ meats from your diet).
