Well written and close in spirit to the characters however Jeannette M. Hilberg Well written and close in spirit to the characters however the ending seemed rushed and convenient. The ending left me unsatisfied because if things had not gone that way it felt as if the Cartwrights would never have been vidicated.I'm sorry if I am not clear, however I couldn't think of how to describe my frustration without giving away the ending.. "Did Bonanza Ventures Really Approve THIS?" according to M. Hughes. First the good--it won't take too long. The book has an interesting premise, and the Indians are good characters. The time period seems to have been well researched. Also, we are to believe that Dortort and/or Bonanza Ventures approved the book. That the author took the time to get that authorization is commendable.Now the bad. Anyone who is going to kill a tree and charge a price to distribute a bit of fanfic--which is all this book really is--should have . "Visit the Cartwrights through Monette's eyes." according to Amazon Customer. If you like historical fiction and if you like the Cartwright family, this Bonanza story is for you. Take a break in your day and let Monette transport you to another time.
