"novel I ever read as a kid and I enjoyed reading it to my kids now" according to Matthew J Wheeler. This was the first L'Amour novel I ever read as a kid and I enjoyed reading it to my kids now. Story is interesting as it isn't a typical western, but also takes place in the east, Mississippi River towns, and Europe. This isn't high literature, but it is a fun read.. Just Excellent Bob I think this novel of Lewis L'Amour's is one of his best. He is still the best western writer that ever lived. It is pretty hard to put this one down.
