"Excellent!" according to 2007pony. I learned a tremendous amount about fighter pilots from this book. It uses real fighter jock lingo and acronyms that encouraged me to take advantage of the power of my kindle fire to google for more information on the internet. The story is a Clancy like techno thriller but without the numerous distracting subplots that burden some of his books. This book is purely about life aboard a carrier by our fine naval aviators. I really enjoyed this read. "This book puts you in the thick of it" according to Michael J Schmank. For those who have been there, those who are close to the ones who have been there and those who wonder what life as a Naval Aviator is like, this book is for youit certainly was for me. I laughed and shed a few tears but mostly, my heart pounded as I was jolted back to experiences I had as a Naval Aviator, both in the air and on the shipthe good times and the bad. This book puts you right in the thick of it. Highly recommended.. Not worth the effort pickyreader The cast of characters is huge and the author gives us the entire list at the beginning, along with a n interminable list of acronyms. We then suffer introduction to each character with their full names and nicknames. Too much information. Then on page eighteen the author used the word octave instead of volume. He needs a dictionary. I stopped reading. Too much work for too little benefit.

His aircraft still rolling, Wilson saw that the monster had another weapon at its disposal…. When the bandit pulled all the way over, almost on its back but in control, he cursed in frustration at what he knew was coming next. Across the small void, he saw the pilot’s eyes peer over his mask. With the little air speed he had, his inverted his Hornet to avoid the attack. Horrified, Wilson realized he faced an imminent snapshot. Dark, chilling eyes&h
