Good writing but mostly repetitious: indians, bears, betrayal, etc., over and over and over! But some fun, too! Norm Beavers I do like David Robbins' writing, but it's difficult to take Nate's struggles to survive seriously when grizzly bears, panthers, buffalo stampedes, storms, earthquakes, Indians, loose gravel slides, tree limbs, floods, trenches, and a zillion other dangers arrive conveniently to thwart his every move.And every time Nate befriends a tenderfoot facing death, he is betrayed!And, of course, every time Nate's mind wanders, he is suddenly under attack because he wasn't alert.I intensely dislike Shakespeare's character most of the time, quoting the Bard is way beyond anything mis. Great series from David Thompson Really enjoy these adventures of a wilderness mountainman and his family. Discriptions of the mountains and wildlife coupled with the dangers of hostiles..
