"The thrill has gone" according to A Customer. "More Tales of the Unexpected" is another collection of Roald Dahl's short stories. But in my opinion this book is trying to repeat the financial success without reaching the quality of the earlier published "Tales of the Unexpected". The first of the nine short stories is a good example of how Dahl's writing works. "Poison" accomplishes everything that the best of Dahl's stories can. The reader gets into strong stress until he r. Unexpectedly dull Sam Quixote As a fan of Dahl and short stories I looked forward to reading this short collection but ultimately found it quite dull. 5 out of the 9 stories here have been printed in previous collections - "Poison", "The Sound Machine", "Georgy Porgy", "Genesis and Catastrophe", and "The Hitch-hiker" have all appeared in "Someone Like You", "Kiss Kiss" and "The Wonderful World of Henry Sugar". The 4 that haven't - "The Umbrella Man", "Mr Boti. "Overpriced" according to A. Pedersen. I should have done more research before ordering this book. Not only is it overpriced, in my opinion, for such a thin book, but several of the stories are also in "The Best of Roald Dahl."
