So this book very much related to me (I have finally f. "This was a wonderful read from beginning to end" according to tom smith. This was a wonderful read from beginning to end. The tale unwinds as a travel book, a war history, a memoir, an antiwar polemic, a psychological study, and it all flows beautifully. This book was recommended to me by my brother who buys it every chance he gets to give to friends. He has read it multiple times and I understand why. A masterpiece.. An amazing book. You have to like history An amazing book. You have to like history, meandering story lines that lead you where they are meant to. Deeply embroidered and intertwined fantasy and reality that can't be separated or defined one from the other. Helprin is a genius. His work makes me breath deeply.
