From the cover: "Vietnam 1967--the way it really was--with never-before published material .When journalist Scott Neithammer arrived in Vietnam, he expected to write about body counts and the winning of hearts and minds. Don Lomax, himself a veteran of the Vietnam War, captures the raw emotions and gritty reality of what it was like for the grunts in the muck. In the early 90s, Lomax worked as writer for the tail-end of the Marvel Comics series The 'Nam, but it was with his own series, Vietnam Journal, published through obscure Apple Comics, that. Very good and realistic military comic about the Vietnam War L. Hou I remember checking this out in my local library about 10 years ago. I was hooked. The story is about a combat journalist who is a Korean War veteran himself assigned to platoon of men, most are seasoned veterans surrounded by everlasting cherries. The graphics as well as the characters (their personalities and persona) and stories are very realis. Go for the new series available now I am a huge fan and find Don Lomax's comics fantastic (I do have most of the original copies) however, the TPB here (that I received) had duplicate pages including a repeat of the entire second comic (minus the title page) with a few extra pages thrown in that belong to the end of the book, and made it very confusing to read through.
