History Comes Alive I study history but historical novels are a wonderful way to better understand and appreciate the characters and the period. History comes alive especially with the detail Gingrich and Forstchen put into it. I read the Civil War and Washington series series and thoroughly enjoyed both. Now reading the Pearl Harbor series. It made it a little harder to follow the story line. I've enjoyed the other two books in the Revolutionary War series more than this one.. this is an excellent book. The characters come to life Suz For those who are looking to relate to people of the past, this is an excellent book. The characters come to life. You feel for them and with them as the story unfolds.It really gives the reader an taste of what the men endured in order to win their freedom.
