Starts Off Good & Just Keeps Getting Better This is an excellently written story with action, compelling drama & at tmes nail biting suspense. I've read many of Max Brand's books, but this has become my absolute favorite. The characters are well developed & the plot is engaging. I couldn't put it down. It is so much more than a typical western (though I do love the genre). I rooted for the villian despite his dreadful deeds. There is an eerie component to this story that will stick. Great Book James Price I first read this book at a local Library as a 10 year old and was suprised to find it as a digital download for Kindle.I was transported right back to childhood.Max Brand was a great author and words his novels in the same fashion as spoken language of the times.Loved it.
