One could smell the reeds, the brackish water, the exhaust from the engines on the riverine boat and the gunpowder. I think my feet became wet from the backwash and jumping off the craft on the banks of the Euphrates River to complete the mission. Just like many middle-eastern currencies, the prologue smells of action - and lots of it!As events have recently unfolded in Europe, Turkey and the United States the methods and modes of terrorists have. Excellent read. Would love to see this on the Joe Excellent read. Would love to see this on the big screen. Think it would be an instant classic. Even though the story is fiction, it reaffirmed my belief in the character of the United States Marine.. Five Stars Love this book, bought a copy for a friend, sent mine to my son.
