"A thought-provoking read about men at war and our nature" according to Betsy. As I read this " Book Club" selection, I recalled reading All Quiet on the Western Front while in high school. I was so moved by that book, and felt the same sadness that I did then. The Red Collar is so well-crafted and so sensitive to all the "types" in the story, it touched me.. Collared The novel had me all the way. I put it down delighted to have read it. And then, I found the ending no longer as satisfying. Maybe that's not all bad.
