Don’t miss "The Godless Men"! This book is an interesting and well written page turner! The characters are well developed and the historical information on the post-Civil War Kansas-Missouri border setting, and on the Native American cultures living there at the time, make the story fascinating and very real. Being a big fan of Westerns, I can easily see this story as a terrific movie!I hope the author writes a sequel soon because I, for one, want to hear more about these characters – even the bad guys are rendered in an empathetic, but not necessarily sympath. A great read. A This engrossing tale centering on two Civil War veterans is not merely about a "good" and a "bad" guy. It provides an individual and a social context: e.g. the impact of the civil war experience, the unimpeded influence of railroads as they expanded across the country, the widespread violence in these newer sections of the United States. The extent of research underpinning the story--both the broad historical and geographical background and such details as reassembling a gun or the behavior of horses. A great read. A.F.. Ann said An Excellent Read. Author Matt Cutugno's new book is dynamite - it's a fast paced story with twists and turns and real heart. There's an outlaw and Indians, a sheriff and an interracial romance, with very interesting characters and plot. It's set against real historical places and events and Civil War battles with people like Jesse James popping up. There are plenty of shootouts and some wonderful dialogue. I heartily recommend this book.
