This might possibly be the worst Johnstone western I have read, really wish I had tried the sample first I love the Loner series but this pales in comparison to that series and others I have readand I have read a lot of these westerns. Never have the early Last Mountain man series been equaled. The series of the Last Gunfighter and the Preacher series western series were the best. There seems to be a steady movement away from the older traditional western. It used to be that any new Johnstone book could be a guaranteed exciting book. Unfortunately this is no longer the case..
