This is one of those books you pick up right after X-Files, planning to read for an hour before bed. But if you're a plain, old-fashioned thrill seeker like me, you'll probably zip right past them as you try to keep up with the Tom Clancy-like explosion of technical trivia and plot twists. Next thing you know it's 5 a.m., you've still got 50 pages to go--and you keep on reading. At least one customer has found several errors of naval rank and military history in the first few pages of Patrick Robinson's blockbuster about a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier suddenly vaporized by a terrorist submarine.

This story about a battleship which suddenly vanished by nuclear fission, leaving behind the other ships in its group, is rather scarey and at the same time very convoluted and sudden. The US Navy attempts to solve the mystery, bringing the cause down to one man and the problem of what to do with this killer when he is finally caught because he is a very intelligent fellow, and heretofore involved with the Navy in a positive way. Admiral Morgan is the main character in the book along with the President and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, as they pursue this murderer. I loved this book I loved this book! the entire series is worth reading. Admiral Morgan is one of the best characters that has ever been developed in a book series.. This Author is LONGWINDED, but the story is good. Anonymous While I enjoyed the story, the author gets really long-winded at times, and sometimes talks for pages and pages about things that really have nothing to do with the story.I enjoyed this storyline enough that I have started "Kilo Class", the second story in the series. I'm only 50 pages in, and it's great so far. There hasn't been the same droning on and on about things that don't concern the story(yet).This book is worth reading, but just skip ahead 10 pages when the author starts to wander.
