My story recounts my memories of their conversations during the civil rights struggles beginning in the 1950’s and continued in tandem with my personal adversities thru my first college years during the race riots of the sixties. Becoming disillusioned with the many un-kept promises both in civil rights and my personal life I went on a search for personal “self identity” that took me thru the drug culture of the seventies and eighties bringing me full circle back to the current Virginia civil rights issues some forty years later.
