good book. good story. louis is an accomplished and highly interesting story-teller, who holds the reader so effectively that time itself seems endless. lack of sleep ensues and the reader is bleary-eyed the following morning. high lonesome is typical of louis' most efficient research into the places and history outlined in his novels.. "Everyone is a mix of good and bad" according to Bruce Paige. The characters are not pure heroes. They have to find their own way in life by the decisions they make. So do we all!. "Good read" according to Pop Pop. Another good read from L'Amour. I love his books.
