The author is a Marine vet., and the book supposedly draws on his experience from the conflict, so the reader certainly gets a sense of realism and a soldier's humor. I would recommend this book to the average reader, not just readers of war fiction.. Great read! Very excited to receive the book on Great read! Very excited to receive the book on release date. The characters that Pitre introduces are compelling to follow through the novel. Very difficult to put down after I started reading it.
