Mickey P. said I can think of other horror writers I've enjoyed this much (two). None I've enjoyed more.. If you like horror stories -- not "the man with the hook hand!!!" giggles-around-the-campfire stories, but The Cask of Amontillado/Needful Things stories, stories that haunt and disturb and sadden and illuminate -- if you like language that cuts like a shard of obsidian, so sharp that you can't even feel it until your own sweat leaks into the thin, red line and starts to burn. He's basically a genius of short stories in my opinion, giving enough to complete the picture in your mind and never dragging out details you don't need. The stories are creepy and twisted but that makes them wonderful in a much scarier way than most short stories. Montoure uses familiar stories/ideas but I've. Terrifyingly creative I can say I honestly did not know what to expect. The very first story was an interesting and enthralling first story to read. After that one I was interested to see what all the other ones were about. The author is original, imaginative and sometimes downright terrifyingly creative.
