World Grace I read this as a book cllub choice. I am so glad I did. If flipping time period in books may bother you at first . The older time period is Okinaway just efore the 1945 just before the American invasion, And the current time frame is an American teen ager , military dependent whose mother is stationed at Kadena. It is a beautiful , historic novel well researched. A Spiritual journey story, not overwhelmi. Sandra J. Smith said I'm glad I continued. For the first few chapters I was ambivalent about this book, and might have stopped reading if it were not for a book club. I'm glad I continued. The two stories are woven together in an interesting way, and the descriptions of life on Okinawa during WWII are vivid and haunting.
